  • So very sorry we didn't get to attend your funeral Gav, I only found the service details just now. You will be missed but always remembered with a smile as I remember our lunches in one of your Dad's Morris's at Manly Dam, the few years we went ski racing together and all the fun and frivolity at home at Dargle. I've still got your voice recording for our boat race ad and I'll treasure it. Our love and deepest sympathies to Michelle, Tilly and your family. Love ya mate xox

  • Gavin, the radio station doesnt feel the same without you. You were a cheeky, witty, straight forward guy and full of so much knowledge. You liked to have a yarn. I'm sad I didn't get to know you better. The last week hearing the stories from listeners, and understanding how passionate you were has been breathtaking and extremely sad. There is no one who will fill the void our station now has.

  • I spent several hours running around the Palm Beach Gold course in a made up nappy many years ago (1980 something). Playing the fool as I did back then. Gavin went through 3 rolls of film shooting exploits of me playing my childish games to entertain the group. He was a great photographer but I was a terrible subject. Loved the mini car collection the family had in Brookvale. I'm now on the west coast but only recently had been listening to him on the airwaves and reminising of the times we had growing up in the group. He was a strong leader who many look towards for guidance. He always delivered. RIP buddy.

  • We spent some great weekends down at Wisemans fundraising for Camp Quality and we raised almost $100,000 in 9 years, thanks for your help mate. You have been a great station manager and a great friend to so many. RIP friend and we will catch up in heaven. You are with GOD and all those who have gone before, we will meet again my friend. GOD bless you.

  • One of my favourite memories is when Gavin and John Delany and myself were doing the ICE run for there family business
One morning on the way back from town in the old grey J2 Bedford truck loaded with the large blocks of ice, a song from the time Rasputin came on the radio
I got out of the truck at the intersection of Sydney Road and Balgowlah Road whilst the lights were changing and did the Russian Cossack dance in the middle of the intersection
Gavin laughed that much I thought he was going to fall out of the drivers seat.
A sense of humour my old friend had and a heart bigger than him
Hey Gav, there’s a CB Radio up there, a new Presentation mike, the fastest boat and a new Falcon ute as well
Too many memories to write down, Miss you mate, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • I first meet Gavin at the Morris Minor centre, that's so long ago and the years have flown past. Gavin was a kind, sweet and happy, that's how I'll remember him R.I.P Gav the world has lost someone special.

  • Gavin was one of the driving forces in teaching me to waterski and an active participant in the subsequent years of madness and mayhem that was Dargle and the RDT. Always the gentleman, and a gentle man, I always felt safe and loved. My thoughts are with his family and all his friends.

  • Gavin always tried to make things just that bit special. When I was going overseas to live for a year he put on farewell drinks at his workshop. To make it special he sent a stretched limouisine complete with drinks to pick me up. What a way to go! Thanks for all those special moments Gav. xxx Snake

  • Your life will be forever remembered for all the good things you have done for so many people, Words cant describe how I feel at the moment as you always gave me good advise which seemed to be a trait that you have. RIP My Friend.

  • My fondest memory of Gavin is when I had to drag Darrell Logue down there to record our ad for Windsor Funeral Home. While we were there Darrell was trying to get me to record our ad with my voice, but I said, No, YOUR Darrell Logue, anyway Gavin and Roger the Dodger just laughed at Darrell and I with our banter. So I left them there to do what they do best and help Darrell with the ad. Then Gavin sent me a copy of what they recorded and our very solemn ad to advertise a funeral home was against a circus themed jingle. I was speechless and they had me going a long time before they played me the real thing. They went to a lot of trouble to play that trick on me. Gavin had a wicked sense of humour and he was a little rascal. Gavin only emailed me at 10.30am on Saturday I’m not sure if he was in hospital at that point as it was from the email on his phone, he had been unwell and the last thing I said to him was, “I hope you feel better soon”. Rest easy Gavin xo
