Favourite memories
  • My favourite memories are of Miss Muir teaching me to sing in the school choir at North Richmond Public School. We did a wonderful performance when I was in Year 2 back in 1992! She was a wonderful singer and a fabulous teacher. xxx

  • I had the privilege of having Miss Muir as a teacher for two years at Richmond North. She was a wonderful teacher who was always encouraging and I always loved being in her class. She always made time for fun crafts and she brought us back a bookmark and a pin from her trip to Canada which I still have. She was also my choir teacher and I still have fond memories of singing in the hall and remembering her favourite songs. Even when I would see her in recent years she still remembered me and was always happy and genuinely interested in my life.. She had a big impact in my primary school life and the shaping of who I am today. You will be missed Miss Muir but never forgotten.

  • Miss Muir was my teacher twice for short periods in my infants years of school when new classes needed to be formed, but had later impact on me through my involvement in the choir. She maintained high expectations for her students and fostered a real love of music with everyone as she played the piano with finesse. I remember going to many music festivals at Windsor Function Centre to perform in the choir and always wanting to make Miss Muir proud as she conducted the massed choir of all local schools. Miss Muir had the passion for and dedication to her work that drives me, now, as a primary school teacher myself. Miss Muir always asked of us when she saw mum locally, maintaining an interest in what we were doing many, many years later. My regret is that I didn’t get the chance to tell her, now as a teaching colleague, of the impact she had on my school experience and in my work leading others just as she did. Rest In Peace Miss Muir, you will be dearly missed.

  • Ms Muir was my kindergarten and year two teacher. My younger brother was also taught by her. Ms Muir was a well respected educator and a significant part of the Richmond North Public School community. Ms Muir was a wonderful to my brother and I. She was of the vintage teaching variety, the kind, as a student, you admired and really did not want to disappoint. It was always lovely to see Muir over the years as we grew up. Without fail, Ms Muir gave my Mum a little wave whenever she went over the school crossing and Mum was on duty. Heather, Rheece and I wish we were able to attend the funeral however send our thoughts and love. We have fond memories of Ms Muir that we will not forget.
