I honestly don't know what to say, but I feel like I need to. Mark was my uncle and, although we didn't get to see each other often, I'm glad that he was. I didn't realise how much we did have in common before, but he'll always be in my thoughts whenever I do those things he liked, as well.
Alana KarasMark was my best friend for a lot of years. We new each other from primary school and shared some ongoing interests which developed into a solid friendship. Mark was way ahead of other boys in maturity for his age both physically and mentally. He was kind hearted and gentle in nature to other people around him. From playing a game of marbles to sharing something out of his lunchbox he was a giving person with that distinctive laugh which i will always remember fondly. We played rugby league together, shared and swapped magazine's, videos, and record's. Both enjoyed going to the movies and listening to music. Many a time playing led zepplin with the dial turned up in my old rumpus room enjoying some beers and then going out for a feed. We had many a good hamburger together from Sutherland. Sharing a camper van going around Tasmania in the early eighties was a big venture for both and great fun. Mark was a loyal and reliable friend to me. He was my only friend at my 21st, the happy gathering restaurant at cronulla. He was overall a fairly private person like myself in which we hit it off. One thing in particular in which Mark showed great selfless act of courage was when I were involved in a unprovoked attack by a gang of blokes on our way home from the hordern pavilion in Sydney. Mark was the only boy that rendered assistance to me when I were being robbed and kicked on the ground. Thankyou dear friend. I am forever grateful. Unfortunately i lost contact with Mark in the mid 2000 's due to himself moving and life changes and myself moving out of the area. I did try to find you in the past through social media without success, but I do always respect you were a private person. I only recently found out by chance on Google about your passing. I am very thankful as having you as my mate and being your friend robbie. My condolences to rhonda, kim, jason and brother in law jim and family. Also to his life partner cheryl and family , and all friends.
Robert nicollThinking of you all & sending all my love. Xxx
Kristie SmithA wonderful, gentle giant, who I spent 57 years knowing. As a child he preferred his own company, but as an adult was charged with taking care of our ailling Mum; a tough job. Although we didnt see each other as often these days, I hope he enjoyed our 'sibling lunches' as much as I did.
Rhonda Karas -( Marks older Sister)I hear Marks laugh, in my son, and it brings back many wonderful memories, keeping him, in our lives.
