Pete was my best mate from high school at Blacktown High. I used to stop in at Datey's on the way to school and we always had lots of laughs. He drove us to Tweed Heads once he got his licence in his panel van at the end of December to meet up with our other mates from school (which was also when he celebrated his birthday). Wot a great holiday that was!
Bruce GowYou were a great mate and enjoyed your life to the max. Gone way too young my friend. My condolences to all of your family. Rest in peace.
A funny man with a great sense of humour and never let anything phase him. A very sad day. I have such fond memories of Lalor Park having fun with Pete and Kevin. He is now resting in peace. Will be sorely missed.
Glenn DateMy favourite memory....there are so many. Pete winning 'Best and Fairest' soccer award at Seven Hills West Primary School. Pete being offered an opportunty to be considered for an apprenticeship as a professional golfer, declining stating that he "didn't want to turn his love of golf into a job". The first half of Pete's life he was everyone's best friend, so popular, so funny, so easy going and so loved. In the second half of his life he only ever talked of his love for his family, the support of a loving wife and his absolute joy at how amazing Emily, Grant and Olivia are. Recently Pete said to me "I hope I've been a good dad and husband as that's all that matters to me". Peter John Date, my beautiful brother is now with God, enriching the lives of those he is now with. Pete, we always loved you so much, love Mum, Dad, Kev, Sue, Aden and Perrin.
Kevin DateSo many memories, where to begin. We have known you so long Pete, so many funny stories and funny moments that we have all shared. You have been a great mate, to all of us, we will miss you. Thanks for all of the years we have had together, love you always.
Ian & Jackie DicksonHey Datey,
Paul SpokesWith a couple of old beers your a remarkable story teller! I will never forget your runaway from the army running through a paddock and falling over a cow!!!
Such a surprise when a Father/Husband is taken away from us so young and unexpected. But God has taken an angel he will look down on his family and take care of you all. .He walks beside you forever and he will be your best friend. Forever....
Mary KellyLots of love and may Pete RIP.
Your friend Mary Kelly
My favorite memory is talking about how bad Penrith were playing and picking out players that should leave the team ! Such a funny amazing man with such a huge impact on many people's lives x
Stephanie PatersonOne of the old gang from Monaco place. The most honest genuine and sincere person I have ever had the privilege to know. His love for his family was immense his kids came first in whatever they did. A very very sad day. Miss you old mate.
